  • Automated bag printing and labeling line for an agricultural enterprise

    Project Overview:The Intramotion Ukraine team has successfully engineered, manufactured, and commissioned a new automated conveying, printing, and print-and-apply labeling line for an agricultural enterprise.Built upon proven engineering solutions previously implemented by our company, the new line incorporates design optimization and modern automation components, significantly enhancing throughput and operational process continuity.
    Objectives and Challenges:The primary objective was to engineer a robust, autonomous system for the automated transfer of empty bags between marking heads, followed by precise stacking.

    Key Line Requirements:
    Automated Singulated Feeding: Automated piece-by-piece (singulated) feeding of empty bags from a feeder container.
    Stable Horizontal Conveying: Smooth horizontal transport through the printing and labeling (print-and-apply) zones.
    High-Speed Marking Accuracy: Consistent marking and labeling precision at high operating speeds.
    Cleanroom Compliance: Operation in cleanroom environments in full compliance with food and agricultural industry standards.

    Scope of Work Executed:
    3D modeling, development of engineering drawings and schematics.
    Equipment manufacturing, assembly, and in-house testing (FAT — Factory Acceptance Test).
    On-site installation, programming, and commissioning (SAT — Site Acceptance Test).
    Handover of as-built documentation and warranty support.

    Implemented Engineering Solution:
    As part of the project, a standalone conveying system featuring its own independent control architecture was engineered and deployed:
    Pneumatic feeder for singulated bag feeding and a heavy-duty belt conveyor.
    Marking and printing system.
    State-of-the-art control cabinet with integrated automation components.

    Project Overview:
    Engineering and manufacturing of a dairy product discharge and infeed conveyor system connecting four primary packaging machines to a secondary packaging line, executed by the Intramotion Ukraine team.

    The project was implemented in full compliance with the highest European and Ukrainian sanitary, hygienic, and machinery safety standards.

    Objectives and Challenges:
    The primary objective was to ensure the continuous intake of packaged products from four automatic filling machines, along with automatic product alignment and diverting into single or dual lanes with precise package pitch control for infeed to secondary packaging in show-boxes (display boxes).

    Results and Benefits:
    Flexibility and Automation: The conveyor system automatically adapts to current line throughput and the number of active packaging units.
    Highest Sanitary Standards: The design fully complies with stringent dairy industry hygiene requirements, ensuring efficient washdown, cleaning, and sanitation.

    Key Requirements:High Throughput: Processing capacity of 8,000 to 16,800 units per hour under simultaneous operation of 2 to 4 packaging machines.Automatic Synchronization: The system must automatically adapt to changes in the number of active machines (2, 3, or 4 units).Standalone Operation: Independent control system operating autonomously from the primary production line.Hygienic Requirements: Stainless steel construction with a minimum ingress protection rating of IP65 for operation in dairy cleanroom environments.

    Flow Alignment Algorithm:Utilization of side conveyors, chutes, and roller transfers (knife-edge transfers) operating at differential belt speeds to ensure smooth, precise merging of four lanes into a single stream while maintaining predefined package spacing (pitch).
    Control System:Standalone hygienic control cabinet.High-reliability SEW Eurodrive (Germany) drive units, Siemens PLC and HMI panel, Danfoss/Siemens variable frequency drives (VFDs), and Festo pneumatics.

    Implemented Engineering Solution:
    To address the complex task of multi-lane merging and stream alignment, a hybrid conveyor system was deployed:
    FlexLink (Sweden) modular conveyor systems and Intramotion belt conveyors:
    TSN-50 Series: AISI 304 stainless steel conveyors featuring adjustable tilt angle and length for primary product intake.
    FlexLink X85X Series: Plastic chain conveyor system with a stainless steel structural beam, engineered for smooth, low-noise operation at high speeds.
    FlexLink WL526X Series: Hygienic conveyor system featuring a split-beam design, zero exposed threads, and minimized horizontal surfaces for rapid drainage and efficient washdown.

    Spiral conveyor

    In the beverage production, in the workshop where the production and packaging of products into PET bottles is carried out, there was a need to optimize the vertical movement of finished packaged products with a limited area of ​​the site. The limited area of ​​the workshop did not allow the use of traditional conveyor solutions.
    Solution:
    A spiral conveyor has been integrated for vertical product transport. The conveyor has been designed taking into account the specifics of the product, ensuring smooth movement and overload protection.

    Solution features:

    Pneumatic table

    In furniture manufacturing, workers faced difficulties in accessing different sides of the product during glue application. This made the process more time-consuming, physically demanding, and risked damaging the surface.
    Solution:
    Integrated pneumatic Intramotion SLT2 turntable, which allows you to rotate the furniture structure effortlessly, fixing it in the desired position.

    Implementation features:

    • control pedals on both sides — convenient from any angle

Paper bag labeling line for seed processing plant

The line is designed for automatic feeding of paper bags to a vacuum conveyor, positioning, printing, labeling and assembling of bags on a discharge conveyor. The solution is build on INTRAMOTION vacuum conveyors, Siemens controls, SEW Eurodrive drives , Festo vacuum and pneumatic components, Habasit conveyor belt and labeling units from Market Imaje.

At the beginning of the line, the operator loads the TC-860F feeder with unmarked bags. Bags are placed with a closed valve towards the operator, for more accurate positioning of them on the conveyor system. The mechanism of separating and laying out the bags feeds the bag onto the TC-860 vacuum conveyor with a length of 2.5 meters, on which the RJNet printer installed.

Bearing processing line automation

In 2022 IntraMotion Ukraine automated TRB rings processing line. Production flow predicts inner and outer ring flows merge and diversion, changing level with lifts, positioning control, buffering and logic programming based FIFO and green flow principles, as well as Safety guards and enclosure.

Rings redirection on parallel conveyors with pneumatic drive

Continuous product flow require redirection between the lines, processes and different levels. Such solutions equipped with presence sensors, accumulation areas, products positioning modules or fault modules. Module is based on DRVS Festo pneumodrive.

Incline and turn conveyors

Modular plastic chain conveyors are proper solution in limited space areas. Small radius, accumulation possibility, fast and simple installation, flexibility in modification.

Connecting different level conveyors with pneumatic lifts

Using top levels for transportation is effective to save production area. Lift helps to connect such flows fast end efficient. Module is driven by DGC Festo pneumodrive.

Ring positioning control and diversion

Ring position check and rotation module in action isrobust 24/7 solution.

Solutions for accumulation and buffering

Continuous product flow require buffering between processes and equipment.

Randomiser for accumulation tables

Accumulation tables for inspection and packaging require effective space usage. Electromechanical randomizer prevents overloads.

Rings load and positioning

Ring position check and and loading mechanism for further processing.
